RMIT is at a really interesting and exciting moment, coming out of COVID and continuing to adapt to a range of seismic shifts. In our step forward as an institution, I'm keen to see RMIT achieve:
(1) New Hybrid digital / F2F classes that allow and encourage students from across RMIT's global campuses to attend for rich discussion and insight from different global perspectives.
(2) Embracing our practitioner sessional staff and designing / delivering
curriculum in industry based on 'live' projects
(3) Adding indigenous place names to our Australian postal addresses to remind us of the country we're on and the tradition of learning and community that has existed in these places long before RMIT
(4) Commit to being a plastic-free institution (esp. when the BYO has dropped off due to COVID restrictions)
(5) Rethinking our physical campuses to become hubs for broader community groups to be present and collaborate with students, staff and researchers See less
